Party is everywhere... from simple to expensive parties being attended by people to celebrate special events. In my assignments from Luzon, Visayas to Mindanao, being a female soldier gives me a lot of challenges and one is the preparation of foods for unit parties that range from snacks, lunch, dinners and cocktails! I am into cooking and perhaps this gives me a plus factor to plan for simple yet delicious party menu.
The other night we had the Women's Month Celebration and my group prepared the cocktail food for the attendees. For a tight budget in the amount of P10,000.00 good for 75 persons, we were able to choose the following menu:
Chicken Lollipop (mistaken by some guests as special fried itik kasi masarap daw thanks for the compliment Sir)
Fish balls, kikiam, shrimp and crab crackersChicken Macaroni Salad
Mini-hotdogs with cheese on sticks
Shanghai Rolls (di po mawawala ito sa handaan)
Drinks (Pineapple Juice for non-alcohol drinkers, Red Wine Pinacolada, Velocity and Screw - thanks Warren for the help!)
It is not necessary to choose expensive menu what is important, is the continues serving of food until the party is finished. For drinks, go away from the traditional drinks such as pure brandy, red wine and beer. Try the drinks I have mentioned above and your guests will be amazed.
