Life with Raki and Angel

Meet Ace Raki Hampton, my nephew and Angel my adorable pet dog.  We live inside camp and I am very much lucky to have King as my nephew despite of his "kakulitan".  When I'm about to sleep, he will always ask me if I need a head, back and foot massage.  When I arrive home at 12:00 noon, i always ask him to get plates, spoon, fork and glasses while I am in a hurry to remove my boots to comfort my tired feet.  My Angel has been with me for the past three (3) years of her life.  From Cagayan de Oro City in Mindanao, I decided to flew her via Cebu Pacific just to be together.  She is my baby, very cute and malambing.  If I have problems and when I cry, this Angel approaches to comfort me.  Thanks so much my dearest King and Angel.  Mommy loves both of you and will take care of you.

Cocktail Party Ideas

Party is everywhere... from simple to expensive parties being attended by people to celebrate special events.  In my assignments from Luzon, Visayas to Mindanao, being a female soldier gives me a lot of challenges and one is the preparation of foods for unit parties that range from snacks, lunch, dinners and cocktails!  I am into cooking and perhaps this gives me a plus factor to plan for simple yet delicious party menu.

The other night we had the Women's Month Celebration and my group prepared the cocktail food for the attendees.  For a tight budget in the amount of P10,000.00 good for 75 persons, we were able to choose the following menu:

Chicken Lollipop (mistaken by some guests as special fried itik kasi masarap daw thanks for the compliment Sir)
Fish balls, kikiam, shrimp and crab crackers
                     Chicken Macaroni Salad
                     Mini-hotdogs with cheese on sticks
Shanghai Rolls (di po mawawala ito sa handaan)
Drinks (Pineapple Juice for non-alcohol drinkers, Red Wine Pinacolada, Velocity and Screw - thanks Warren for the help!)

It is not necessary to choose expensive menu what is important, is the continues serving of food until the party is finished.  For drinks, go away from the traditional drinks such as pure brandy, red wine and beer.  Try the drinks I have mentioned above and your guests will be amazed.

Afraid to love?!?

Sometimes I hate to accept the fact that someone likes and loves me.
I have been cheated, fooled and brokenhearted!
If i listen to what they say, what he says, will it be good for me?
Or should I say, they are giving me hope and in the end I am hopeless!

Sometimes, I want to be alone.
Wants to feel the serenity of the place where I am
Wants to think, imagine, visualize the future and dream of a happy ending like a fairytale
Since dreaming is just free, I will not deprive myself for that.

But what is a dream?
Why I kept on dreaming of you?
Was the dream I had this morning has a connection to your real feelings?
Or aspirations in your life may be?

I am still conservative
Though I like you undoubtedly, no further queries and inhibitions to say it
I will not initiate moves just to show it!
And if you are brave enough to tell me, then why not?

(Ahehehe practice lang ito ha???)

It's Women's Month!

Undoubtedly, women are now occupying key positions in the government same with the private sectors.  One perfect example is the Secretary of Justice no less than Secretary Leila De Lima.  The first female president of the Philippines was the Late Cory Aquino marked a significant role in the history of the country.  The Senate's most loved (and its opposite) Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago has her own precepts of making the senate's session lively, where in fact, the session will be boring if she is not around.  In the military, the first female general who is a line officer is BGEN RAMONA P GO AFP, a product of OCS Australia and I should say that I'm proud to be her junior.

On the other hand, we should not forget the females in our simple society who shared their contributions for the good of our country.  They may be working in non-prestigious companies and yet their remarkable success stories are worth emulating.

For the past three days, I have been preparing the plan for the celebration of the Women's Month.  Thanks to our higher ups for providing us with the funds to cover the expenses of our forthcoming activities.  Hopefully, this year's celebration will be a significant one for Armor Women.

To all the WOMEN IN THE WORLD, HAPPY WOMEN'S MONTH!

Lastly, JJ gave me this:

According to her Tita Shiela, kasi daw umalis siya agad noong party so he has to give me something sweet.  Oo na sweet nga ang chocolates e what about that cute heart pillow? May red daw doon kaso I love you ang nakasulat baka mashock daw ako!  Hmmm... natawa pa mga Tita at Tito niya--- ask them kung sino kasama nya pagbili...

bye bye Love month hello March!

February has been a very busy month for me at the office considering that we have to host a party for hundreds of fellows and I did the planning through my boss' guidance.  I admit, I did not have even enough time to pamper myself even the usual foot spa that I loved for years has no space in my notebook per say.
After being so brokenhearted for the past years, I already have regrets in entering into serious relationships for fear that I may experience the same again...  I just wanted to keep myself busy, prayed that the Valentine's Day would just pass as a normal day for me.  Unexpectedly, during the Valentine's Party someone gave me a rose.  I was touched that for years, no one ever dared to give me for fear that I might slap them on their face or they be punched, directed to perform hundreds of squat thrust for being very brave to approach me.  For you JJ, thank you so much. You made me so special and I appreciate your kindness and for being true to yourself.
The love month is over and March is on the air.  Again, my busy schedule in the office, choir rehearsals at the chapel and other activities with my new found family in Tarlac are just but simple way of releasing the boredom.  Thanks so much to all my Ate and Kuya in church.  You are part of the treasures I have in life...
