Back for good:-)

I have been busy for the past months doing office works, choir rehearsals and meetings but the most busy days were spent cleaning, painting and fencing my new quarters. However, despite of my hectic schedule, I find time for myself thanks Mine for coming into my life. You are God's gift to me. Hope to know you more. New home, brand new life.

What it takes to be a responsible pet owner?

This is the health record of my pets.
Since my assignment in Samar Island in 2003, I have been a dog lover.  It all started when a soldier asked me if I am interested to buy a puppy.  Without any hesitation, I bought the puppy at P300.00 only.  She was adorable, had chocolate-brown hair like a stuffed toy placed in a display table.  After one week, the puppy experienced falling hair that resulted to baldness due to scabies or "galis".  A private even told me to bury the puppy alive because he felt pity of the condition but I told him to dig a grave and I will bury him instead of the dog.  I contacted the vet in the Municipal Agriculture Office of Catbalogan who gave a shot to kill all the eggs of the insects that caused her falling hair.  After a week, significant changes were observed from her like growing hairs and she was already active.  From there, she started to have regular visit to the vet for her vaccinations.

What really takes to become a responsible pet owner?  Many people wants to own a dog or a cat as their pets.  However, some do not have the passion to love and take care of their pets because of their busy schedules and worst if they just want to have pets just to be in with their groups or friends who have pets - meaning, they are irresponsible.

At the playground...
1. Like humans, pets need food to live.  Foods include milk, dog food and even table food we humans eat but not all can be served to them since they are allergy to some like shrimps, crabs and other freshwater fish.  Chicken bone is a big NO NO for them unless you want their intestines to bleed.  Give them enough water, a water feeder is best so they will not catch leptospirosis.

2. Pets need regular visit to the vet.  This is to ensure that they are healthy and vaccinated against parvo virus, canine distemper, rabies, worms and other diseases.

3.  Pets need grooming.  Bath your dogs once a week so they will be free from dirt.  Shi Tzu breed like my dog is a high maintenance dog.  Grooming includes hair cut, teeth and nail cleaning.  Use shampoo and soaps intended for dogs.  Do not use human shampoo and soaps since this are made of different chemicals that may harm them.  My dogs are also fashionista thay have their own dresses too.

4.  Pets need love and care.  Giving food is not enough to show our love for them.  Hug them, bring them to a leisurely walk or jog around the oval so they can exercise and have fun with them.  In my case, I bring my dogs to church during masses and during choir rehearsals.  Likewise, we eat at the same time!

5.  Talk with your pets.  Yes! Others may say you are crazy if you talk to your pets but this is a way to convey what you mean.  They cannot speak but they understand what we are telling them.

6.  Train your child to be responsible too.  Adult family members should not only be responsible for the pets but the kids too.  This is the perfect stage for children to learn to be responsible.  My nephew Ace Raki who lives with me is already a responsible kid.  He cleans the litters of the dogs, feed them and play with them.

All of us should remember that it is easy to become a pet owner but it is hard to become a responsible pet owner.  Treat your pets like humans.  Give them what they need, give them love and surely, the love you have to them will be given to you in return.  Many articles have been written that dog saves lives.  Your compassion to animals speaks your compassion to people.  Be responsible enough!

October Hello!

Blogging has been out of my mind in the past month because of my very hectic schedule at work.  However, the whole month of September was loaded with much fun from the anniversary celebration of the command to fun games, rehearsals at the chapel and many more.

The month of October is very significant to beer lovers because of the OctoberFest.  It is also the Rosary Month for the members of the Catholic Community and on the first day of October, Christmas is only seventy-four days away!  It means, the year-end bonus is just a month away too, same with the fiesta celebration in honor of the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal on the 27th day of November.  One one thing that adds to my excitement is the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi of which I am looking forward for the blessing of the pets by the Post Chaplain which is very timely because my Angel has four new puppies.

If asked what I want for this month, I would say - may this month be full of life, spirit and soul feeding, love, peace, healing and blessings!

My baby is now a MOMMY

my pet Angel
August 10, 2012 - We had our dinner at the house of my foster parents in PAVHA.  Angel approached everyone in the house as if she had something to tell us and we talked that probably, she was already telling us that she can't visit PAVHA anymore because of her soon to be puppies.

the cute puppies
The following day, while we were busy preparing for the simple post birthday celebration of mine, we observed that she was uneasy.  She went up our bed, then went down as if looking for a perfect place where she can deliver her puppies.  Lunchtime came, for the first time that she was not under the table to ask for her share so I looked for her at my room.  She was under the bed and was sleeping.  I woke her up and cuddled her outside but she returned back to where she was sleeping.  She was grasping for breath so I turned on the aircon and locked the room.  While I was on the last piece of wrapping the shanghai rolls, I heard the sound of a newborn puppy.  I just looked at Ate Teth's eyes and rushed to my room.  Upon opening the door, two white puppies were already born, the eldest was already drinking milk from Angel while the second was still being cleaned.  I was so excited to see my Baby Angel having two newborn puppies.  Every after 10 minutes, Angel prepared to deliver her third baby and fourth baby.  In just a couple of minutes, she already had 3 cute male puppies that we call  "Gwapo" and one female that we call "Ganda".  We are reserving the giving of names to the lucky owners of the puppies.  To my Angel, you are still Mommy Marvi's baby.  I love you so much my buddy.:-)

My Buddies

Being single is not a hindrance to become happy in fact, blessed are those who are alone than those with partners who are just victims of physical and emotional abuse.

My daily life is complete with my three buddies.  Ace Raki Hampton - my nephew, Angel - a 3 year old dog from Cagayan de Oro City and Doro - my adopted dog from my foster parents in the housing village.

Ace Raki at the age of seven is such a responsible child.  During weekdays, he is left with the two dogs inside my quarters.  A cup of milk or chocolate drink and biscuits or bread is always ready at the table so when he wakes up in the morning, he can have his breakfast without me.  More often, I called him at 9:00A.M. to check if he is already awake and give him instructions to feed the dog with milk or dog food and to do some chores in our room.  He can take a bath on his own, wash the dishes, assist me in washing the laundry at the washing machine, cook some rice and one thing I really like him is when he ask permission to massage my feet, back and head.  Isn't he sweet?  Raki is also my fashion critic haha.  He knows what outfit is good for me.  His favorite line is "YES WE ARE GOING TO PAVHA!!!  ANGEL AND DORO LET'S GO!!!"  Though there are times I get mad at him because of his childish attitude (at 7, she is still a child), he made my life so full of meaning and I love him as my own child.

My Baby Angel is such an adorable dog.  Expect her to be at the door waiting for my arrival.  Once I have opened the door, she embraces and kisses me!  Doro is also adorable.  At 6 months, I can't take away his childlike activities - playing with Kulas, a Cyberian Husky dog that has been abandoned by its original owner and now just roaming around the camp.  Another playmate is Ara or Liit - the dog owned by a neighbor.  Liit and Doro are partners in crime!  Expect them to be hundreds of meters away from my quarters playing with Kulas and other Asong Pinoy.

To my buddies, there are times that your Mommy is out of the mood because of some problems however, I love all of you and I am thankful to God for the three  of you.:)

Bubbles my Bubbles

Bubbles the gymnast!
Almost three years ago, I adopted a Pusang Pinoy and named her "Bubbles" because of her white fur. She is so adorable, funny and plays with my little Angel the doggie.  Below are the unforgettable moments I had with them, and I am reminiscing those moments since I left Bubbles in Malaybalay City when I was reassigned to Manila in 2010.

Ahaha a perfect place to scratch her body!

bye bye Love month hello March!

February has been a very busy month for me at the office considering that we have to host a party for hundreds of fellows and I did the planning through my boss' guidance.  I admit, I did not have even enough time to pamper myself even the usual foot spa that I loved for years has no space in my notebook per say.
After being so brokenhearted for the past years, I already have regrets in entering into serious relationships for fear that I may experience the same again...  I just wanted to keep myself busy, prayed that the Valentine's Day would just pass as a normal day for me.  Unexpectedly, during the Valentine's Party someone gave me a rose.  I was touched that for years, no one ever dared to give me for fear that I might slap them on their face or they be punched, directed to perform hundreds of squat thrust for being very brave to approach me.  For you JJ, thank you so much. You made me so special and I appreciate your kindness and for being true to yourself.
The love month is over and March is on the air.  Again, my busy schedule in the office, choir rehearsals at the chapel and other activities with my new found family in Tarlac are just but simple way of releasing the boredom.  Thanks so much to all my Ate and Kuya in church.  You are part of the treasures I have in life...

Be my Valentine???

Its almost Valentine's Day. Couples are now excited to spend the day with their partners, thinking where to spend and what to give to make their dates memorable.  Flowers, chocolates, teddy bears, heart pillows and other love symbol items can now be found in malls.

Honestly, I hate Valentine's Day for so many reasons.  Hopefully this year, SOMEONE will touch my heart just like what SOMEONE did during Christmas Day.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
